Giddy up, bitches!
Author: Frank Beaton
Just a quick note: the Image Comics western anthology OUTLAW TERRITORY (in which I have a story with Turkish artist Melike Acar) is in the current issue of Previews and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The book arrives in stores October 15th.
You’re going to like this one. There are some excellent stories in it from a group of very talented creators, many of whom are not even me. (I know!)
But seriously, folks. Grek Pak, Ivan Brandon, Christopher Mitten, Joe Kelly, Chris Moreno, Andy MacDonald, and like two dozen other people who are awesome — all doing stories about cowboys and shit. How cool is that?
Buying this book is the right thing to do, America. So do!

Yep, I’m going this year.
I’ll be lurking around the Oni and Image booths a good deal of the time, so if anyone wants to say hi, get something signed, or discreetly hand me a suitcase full of cash, you know where to find me.
Also, after much toil and heartache, I managed to set up the post-by-email and MMS dealy on WordPress, so I may do some live-blogging from the convention floor with my not-quite-an-iPhone, if the fancy strikes me.
See you in the sunshine.
Do people still say ‘props’? Like, unironically?
Author: Frank Beaton
Whether they do or not, I’d like to take a moment to give some props to my lovely wife Jill, who, in addition to having recently survived the horrific experience of having a power-mad doctor stab her repeatedly in the stomach, was also officially hired last month by the excellent Oni Press as an Assistant Editor.

Attagirl.
Leader don’t shiv, he nasty
Author: Frank Beaton
Found randomly on YouTube — a startup 3D animation company animated the Mutant Leader’s TV address from THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS as part of their demo reel. Not bad (although the voice could stand to be a bit scarier).
Where I’ve been
Author: Frank Beaton
It’s been months in the making, and all weirdly hush-hush, but the all-new, all-awesome Comic Book Resources is finally up, and 99% of the programming work was done by yours truly.
Check it out.
Craftsmanship
Author: Frank Beaton
OUTLAW TERRITORY is a full color western anthology coming this summer from Image Comics. You will like it.
Here’s a page from my story, “Craftsmanship”. Art and colors by Turkish badass Melike Acar.
Marvel Zombies fan film

Really impressive zombie makeup, if you’re into that sort of thing. Which I totally am.
Watch it once before the lawyers force them to take it down. Something tells me footage of Spider-Man greedily gnawing on Mary Jane’s intestines requires some kind of corporate consent.
Doesn’t Zombie Hulk look awesome?

…is Nadshot.com, which is an ever-expanding collection of comic book panels featuring dudes getting kicked in the balls. Hard.
(Weird to note how many of them are from Morrison’s ANIMAL MAN.)

Crunch!
I tried to watch an episode of X-MEN: EVOLUTION
Author: Frank Beaton
I was done as soon as Rogue used her power-siphoning abilities to steal Storm’s dance moves.
Seriously.
That’s actually what happened. I did not just make that up.
Dance moves.
Swear to God.
