Stuffs and things

Gah! Busy!

No time to properly blog. Have some argumentative bullet points, instead.

  • Last night I threw my arm out playing Boom Blox on the Wii. This is officially my lamest injury.
  • Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was good. If you disagree with that statement, it’s likely because you’re a deeply jaded cynic for whom there is no hope for personal happiness. You probably haven’t enjoyed anything on an un-ironic level since you were nine years old and you deserve to be pitied.
  • Guess what? I still write comic books! Big announcements coming soon, but in the meantime, here’s the cover for OUTLAW TERRITORY, a new western anthology coming this fall from Image. I have a story in it, with newcomer Melike Acar on art.

  • Last week Jill’s boss got us VIP passes to the Portland Roller Derby. Holy God, that was fun.
  • The new Ladytron album is terrific, although I’m a little disappointed they didn’t continue in that weird techno-goth direction they seemed to be going in on Witching Hour.
  • I get to hear that album live tomorrow night. Hooray!
  • New site design. Yea or nay?

More bloggings when I have time.

Indy4 was good. Wasn’t great. I groaned a couple times, and it didn’t have a single second as good as the tank fight from Last Crusade.

Still, pretty solid. Perhaps it erred on the side of saccharine, but still fun. The first ten minutes KILLED.

I have now been to two roller derbies (wait, is derbies the plural of derby or is it derbys, meh, I don’t know) in LA and yes, they are a freaking blast! Plus Drew Barrymore is making her directorial debut based on the memoir of an LA Derby Doll so she is at all the games and is her cute Drew self, all hippie free spirit, chatty, and nice to everyone. Yes, I still get excited when I spot a celebrity while in LA.

My favorite part of Indy 4 was the Greaser/Soc fight in the soda shop.
